Carter Myers Automotive Fuels the Fight Against Pediatric Cancer

Virginia automotive group raises funds in support of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Charlottesville, VA – Carter Myers Automotive (CMA) is observing Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with its annual #FueltheFight campaign. For each vehicle sold during the month of September, CMA’s dealerships throughout Virginia will make a donation to local non-profits that support pediatric cancer research and provide resources for local children and their families as they undergo cancer treatment.

“We are so proud to support the incredible work of these organizations,” said Liza Borches, President and CEO of Carter Myers Automotive, “As a family and employee-owned company, CMA has always made giving back to our communities a top priority. Our corporate mission is Moving Lives Forward, and I cannot imagine a better way forward than to help children and their families as they endure such a difficult point in their lives.”

CMA’s five dealerships in Staunton, three in Charlottesville, and CMA’s Subaru of Winchester chose the pediatric cancer program at UVA Children’s Hospital as the recipient of funds raised at those stores. CMA five dealerships in the Richmond area chose the ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation. CMA’s Williamsburg Ford chose the Cancer Center at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters. In addition to donations for every car sold, CMA associates, friends, and customers are encouraged to purchase oversized CMA Gas Cards in any denomination. The cards will be displayed in the dealerships with the purchaser’s name or the name of a child in whose honor/memory it was purchased. These funds will be used to buy actual gas cards for families traveling for pediatric cancer treatments.

Last year, CMA’s #FueltheFight campaign raised over $28,000 for pediatric cancer treatment and research. We hope to do even more this year.
