FORREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) preseason coaches’ poll for field hockey has been released, and Shenandoah University has been named the preseason favorite. The Hornets, who received five first-place votes, narrowly secured the top spot with 61 points. This is the first time the Hornets have been picked first in the conference in program history. In addition, Shenandoah opens the season nationally ranked on the Penn Montco/NFHCA Coaches Poll at #20. The Hornets last season opened up on the poll at #25, before moving up to #16 in Division III.
