Douglas “Doug” Page enters his first year with the Francis Marion University athletics department as the sports information intern.
Page, a native of Pine City, N.Y., is a 2012 graduate from Medaille College with a B.S. degree in communications. At Medaille, he broadcast and kept stats for baseball and softball while also broadcasting men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, hockey and lacrosse. Page also served three years as the station director for the student run campus radio station.
Page also brings experience from having worked in minor league hockey as well as baseball. He served as a broadcast/communications intern with the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons.
He also had stints with the Jamestown Jammers (Short-Season Class A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates) of the New York-Penn League and most recently the Williamsport Crosscutters (Short-Season Class A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies).
Doug Page is the new voice of the Mansfield University Mounties beginning with coverage of field hockey, women’s soccer and sprint football Light Up Mansfield Again as part of Family and Friends Weekend on September 20.
He joined Fox Sports Radio Williamsport in August for coverage of the 2014 Little League World Series.
During the summer months Page handled the broadcasting and media relations duties for the Elmira Pioneers of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League. He started with the Pioneers as an intern prior to the start of the 2009 season. Page had the opportunity to broadcast women’s basketball during the 2013-14 season for the Division I University at Buffalo Bulls.
